PDX Coffee Club was founded in January of 2023 by Joe and Vicente Shum Seruto with the desire to greater connect the people of Portland to the coffees we enjoy everyday and the many people who produce them. We are excited to be a part of this vibrant community and as such we operate with the following values in mind…
Foster Harmonious Community
PDX Coffee Club was founded to bring those with a shared passion for coffee in the city of Portland and beyond together. We welcome everyone regardless of any personal identifiers, past experiences or preferences and seek to unify through open compassionate dialogue. We work to reduce barriers, connect people and uplift the underrepresented because we believe a strong community is one where all voices are heard and appreciated.
Celebrate People
The coffee industry is diverse and far reaching with many members of the supply chain often left unheard. PDX Coffee Club aims to resolve this by creating opportunities to connect consumer to producer through celebrating the voices, stories and hard work of the lesser known. We believe coffees best pairing is the recognition of the many hard working hands often gone unseen.
Seek to Educate
Coffee should not be difficult and barriers to enjoyment should be eliminated where possible. We accomplish this through the open sharing of ideas, past experiences and knowledge. This can be as simple as a shared brew recipe or as complex as an in depth presentation. Regardless of the means we seek this open transfer of knowledge in all directions.
Operate sustainably
Appreciation of your community must include the desire to leave it better for those to follow, and as such we go to great efforts to examine and identify opportunities to better impact our environment. This focus must also consist of more of than an examination of our impact on land but also of the people and businesses we work with. Simply put, support local and leave it better than you found it.
